What is Neosurf and how do you use a voucher safely?

SarahPrepaid & travel editor

Neosurf is a prepaid voucher for paying on participating websites without entering card details. You choose a value, receive a 10-character PIN and enter it at a checkout that genuinely accepts Neosurf. The voucher is not a general bank card and should never be sent to another person as payment.

Before you buy

Open the payment page of the website you plan to use and check that Neosurf is listed. If it is not visible, a voucher probably will not solve the payment. You can also consult Neosurf's official merchant information.

Select an available value on the Neosurf Voucher page. Keep the code private after delivery; possession of the PIN can be enough to spend the balance.

Paying with the voucher

  1. Choose Neosurf in the participating merchant's checkout.
  2. Enter the 10-character PIN.
  3. Review the amount and confirm.
  4. Save the code if a balance remains.

The official FAQ says that remaining value can be checked through Neosurf's own voucher-check page. Do not enter the PIN on websites that merely claim they can verify it.

> Sarah's tip: if a landlord, marketplace seller or caller asks you to buy Neosurf and send a photo of the PIN, stop. Neosurf explicitly warns users never to send vouchers by email or give the code by telephone.

Balance, validity and refunds

Voucher values and validity can vary by country. Use the official check page for status and balance. Neosurf also describes a refund process through a verified myNeosurf account; identity verification and a fee may apply. The retailer cannot simply take back a delivered and exposed code.
